Kübler Original Absinthe 1L
About Kübler Original Absinthe
Kübler Original Absinthe is produced by Yves Kübler who we can all thank for playing a role in the repeal of Absinthe in the United States back in 2007. Yves is a fourth generation Absinthe distiller, and he got his start producing Absinthe a bit earlier than may be socially acceptable. Kübler Original is the first Absinthe available in the United States to come from the home of Absinthe, Val-de-Travers, Switzerland. Tasting Notes
Black licorice, anise, and fennel forward. Complex herbal and spice notes. A natural sweetness leads the pallet with lingering natural herbs, anise and mint present.
Suggested Serves
- The Swiss Pearl cocktail
- Yves Kübler recommends enjoying the spirit before a meal as an aperitif and preparing it with at least 2ml of water for every 2cl (about .7oz). Kübler himself prefers it very cold and adds an ice cube too.
Production Notes
This classic Swiss-style absinthe is produced in Môtiers, an area within Val-de-Travers, Switzerland, which is the birthplace of Absinthe. Kübler Original Absinthe is distilled and macerated using local plants, herbs, and botanicals. The 9 botanicals present are Grand Wormwood, Green Anise, Fennel, Lemon Balm, Hyssop, Coriander, Peppermint, Petite Wormwood, and Star Anise. The expression is made in accordance with original recipes from the family, which despite the ban on Absinthe, has been continuously producing the spirit since 1863.
